The last month of this year is knocking on the door. For someone, this means time to put „party-time“ mood on, shopping sprees, gifts, parties and all that comes with it. But for the others, it is a period of the year when we retrospect and reevaluate all out life choices. A time when we are planning our whole next year, as well as making new year resolution and changes in our life.
Since 2011. I’ve started writing plans for each year that comes. My resolutions were not easy to accomplish, I knew that, but that made me more passionate and persistent to fulfill all my goals. I definitely didn’t manage to accomplish all the things I’ve wanted, but when I retrospected the year that passed I’ve made huge steps. The fact that I did my best to try to accomplish my goals and my hard work through the year paid off, motivated me to dream bigger and be the best version of myself. Also what helped me to stay motivated and persistent is the fact that I do not like to fail. At anything.
These are 3 easy steps that will help you not to fail New year resolution:
1. Choose the right New year resolution
One of the reasons why resolutions fail is choosing the wrong resolution, so don’t be that person that listens to what society says. No one should tell you what you need to do with your life. Also as I said earlier, I’m a big dreamer and I set my goals high, but be realistic. Your goals need to be achievable. Example of the perfect goal is to start living healthier: Top 5 healthy habits
2. Make a plan
Achieving your goals is a long process, nothing won’t just magically appear. After you choose your goal, you need to start planning how to accomplish them. Again be realistic, encourage yourself and find the right way to minimize temptations. And most of all – be positive.
3. You don’t have to be alone
If it’s easier for you, tell your friends or on social media that you are setting your goals. It will be a public commitment and you’ll have somebody to support you. They could give you some good advice and a strong push not to fail.
And at the end, there is always time for a fresh start. Don’t be discouraged by failure, if you know that you did your best. Every change that you’ve made is important. It will be a lesson for the next time and for the next New year resolution.
